Vettaiyaadu Villayaadu

How can you squander good acting? Make a movie like Vettaiyaadu Villayaadu. How can you spend up a good night’s sleep? Watch a movie like Vettaiyaadu Villayaadu.

Ok, I am clearly overstating this. Some parts of the movie were appreciable.

Here’s a small list of what was good.

>DCP Raghavan’s Introduction – No swish whoosh noise accompaniment, established a gutsy police officer, dark humour hanging somewhere there but wasn’t used.

>The Murder of Arokiaraaj’s Daughter – Established the goriness of the perpetuator, music accommodated the overhanging darkness.

>The Investigation of Arokiaraaj’s Daughter’s Murder – Established Raghavan Instinct (was it an inspiration from Will’s Instinct – Red Dragon? Not sure), BGM, again the ability to use bright daylight to deliver ominous activity like digging up a dead body, Goriness.

>Kayal Vizhi meets Raghavan – Now it took jus2minutes for Mr.KH to do what he does the very best. Home ground advantage? It was like watching Sachin at Wankade for just 1 ball. You must be kidding me if you didn’t know where that ball went.

>Partha Mudhal song. Good Music (even if it was a bit Gajini-sh). Poor picturing sequence.

>Good fight sequencing

>Arokiaraaj Family Murder – Intensity Increased, the suspense was elevated, everything went until…

Some key takeaways from this movie.

A really Important Note: believe me when I say this. I haven’t seen a Panavision in my life and I would do anything for it. I respect everyone who even attempts to make a film or write 10 pages of sense for that matter. What I am sharing is purely from some serious audience-ing.
>First of all – why a cop movie once again?

>If a cop movie then why pick up a serial killer (kind of rare in our country)

>As if 1 wasn’t bad enough there were 2 killers (friends!!!!!)

>Bad serial killer Introduction. (They looked more like construction engineers on the Brooklyn Bridge discussing a roarkian restructuring)

>Gay twist??? – Bad taste

>Why New York? Why not Kasi or some arid village in Rajasthan or Calcutta?? No I got nothing against NY or nothing for the Indian locations but that is the precise point!

>It had the right cast but it was given to the wrong characters. What could have happened if you had two new comer constables chasing a middle aged serious (definitely not “china pasanga”) Serial “Kamal Hasan” Killer. My goodness we’ve missed that!

>Jyothika and Prakashraj? Wasted. I have nothing to say.

>Ilamaaran and Amudhan, Kayal Vizhi? What’s with these pure Tamil names? Pseudo “patru”

>People liked the rapid camera (at least my friend did) movements (like R.E.M) that I felt were unnecessary. I could associate it well with an action packed movie or high-speed adventure etc. to a thriller a big no.

>Some part of the BGM was really noisy and inappropriate. It could give many headaches and some heart patients a run for their ongoing rate!

>Bad Acting. Once again we have an Indian movie lead by the finest actors in India and a goddamn Am called Andy who screws up with his mediocre sense of acting/dressing. If you can’t afford a decent American actor at least avoid a compromise.

If any of you are offended by my above views, my intention was not that. I just feel really good when I watch a well made alternate. It’s about the absence of that scope to Indulge in an absorbed reverie. Seriously, ignore the language, I just didn’t get a kick. Shoot! Kicks outta fad. Headbutts?? anyone??
