BigBoss Tamil

I didn’t watch Bigboss Tamil when it had started. I don’t exactly remember the reason why I went back to it but it was the week of #Harathi got evicted. From the time I got on to it I was hooked onto it.

Kamal Haasan is a legend. A master of many arts as I had read somewhere. He is widely known to be an intellectual whose appetite for knowledge is insatiable. If that were so there is little doubt that the amount of research the man would have put into understanding the concept behind bigg boss (or the original franchise with its orwellian name - big brother).

I don’t know Oviya and the kind of person she really is but from what I have seen, I liked her because, she showed us people that even though she was made of many things good and bad, just like all of us, she controlled the bad as much as she could. I felt that at the very end, more than anything else, she was scared that the devil might slip out. I think she did what many of us wished we did in our daily lives. As Oviya says “it's not easy”

The other thing is I became an active twitter reader off late. I’m simply amazed by the sheer number of people who wants Oviya to win. In a way the truth and the good to win. We don’t know if it's all scripted or not but either ways we, the people, cheered for the good, truthfulness and love. Even though at the end you might have (I definitely did) felt that she was losing it, you cheered on. Again it was not easy for us but we did it because we want the good to win. Its an amazing reassurance about people.

During one of the days I was thinking about this concept of continuous surveillance and how that would affect us all if we are subject to that. I was wondering if we in our minds think that we are being constantly watched would we lose our instinctive behaviour. In the case of biggboss - You can call the cameras as the eyes of god or higher authority or our very own subconscious. The host a messiah or just a friend and the people are the ultimate being, the gods.

Will we be honest and truthful at all times? Simply put, If we know that if we speak ill about someone and that person will know will we still speak ill. Will we do ill to others? We still might in the beginning but the greater question perhaps is will we evolve?

We are nothing but an evolved animal and even after millions of years we still retain these characteristics. The society or the social group has helped us to set rules which on a very high level is divided into the Good and the Bad. The rules becomes the Law and the law clearly states the “Do Not” on one side and puts everything else on the other. But we know, inside us, there are god like characteristics - truthful, cheerful, courageous, affectionate, loving etc & a devil - liar, pervert, bully, racist, angry etc.

Will we try and let out the god, the laughter, the truth more out than the devil. From the way the people have cheered Oviya, I believe we can.

I was riding my motorcycle this morning towards office. I noticed green signal and was rushing to cross as I saw a Maruti 800 in front slowly crossing from my right to left while I was going straight. And somehow the slow movement of this maruti made me think that the person beind the wheel must be an old man. That thought enraged me and made feel "Oh damn these old men". There was a bigger vehicle behind me honking and putting that "pressure" which made me even more mad at the driver and as I went past the car I noticed that I was right. It was an old man who was oblivious to the whole thing. He gave me that "Wtf do these men still drive and take our lives out??!!" feeling. "Otha uyir edukarudhukinne varaanunga!!!"

All this happened in a fraction of a second. Now the important thing is I was not speeding and I could've controlled my bike which I did.

But right after the thought I felt very bad.

I drew parallels on how we buckle under pressure and do harm to people who wouldn't have wanted to do any harm. Ok I agree that the old man was stupid to take such a turn. He could have caused some harm. But that didn't happen and on the bargain he made me curse him and I was again the victim of guilt.

Ideal situation: I should have stopped waited patiently till the car turned and then resume riding.

Do not buckle under panic. Focus on less panic, more calm. Less red, more blue.

Hmmm... I'm back to blogging after a big break and not very thrilled.
Its bad times...We're rolling in a lot of shit. Mumbai shoot-out, Assam blow jobs!
One thing that has clearly come out of all this terror is hatred. The hate levels on people across India have reached new levels. And people are close to starting a war. The amount of hate Islam or Pakistan is enormous. And these are not from some angry teenagers (which is just appalling especially if you have read the comments in YouTube)
When I’m saying all this I myself got pretty pissed off and wrote this at another blog. Now I kind of realize that the 10 terrorists have achieved their biggest objective… Hate.

Why is "Sanjay Dutt" spending another night in the jail such a big news!!! Almost every news channel dedicates 15 minutes airtime on this. Am I missing something here?

Boeing and China Airlines

Amazing that a Plane catches fire and the shares of both the plane manufacturer and the airline shares actually rose. Can you believe it? Is it because the plane didn't blow-up in the middle of a flight or they were able to save all passengers. I was thinking that the shares for both these guys should have sunk. The other amazing thing i noticed was Airbus S.A.S is a privately held company. That's some news...being european and they still manage to give Boeing a run...i like the French!
